Young, Engaged Couples Wanted for New TV Show
By Jill Kruse
If you’re engaged to be married in the next six months and are under 21 then the Slice TV Network is looking for you.
Robert Scott, Series Producer at Cineflix Productions, says Slice will be launching a new wedding TV show “Young and Married” and is hoping to find engaged teens and young adults who are planning to take their vows in Ontario in 2012.
“We are offering four young couples an amazing opportunity to be on a new wedding TV show on Slice,” says Scott. “Engaged teenagers and young adults of all ethnic backgrounds, from all walks of life, and any budget level are encouraged to apply for this incredible opportunity.”
If chosen for the show, the network will film the trials and triumphs of getting married and the lucky couple will receive $4,000 towards their wedding budget and more!
According to the network call out flyer every budget level is acceptable: do-it-yourself wedding, theme wedding, small backyard wedding, large extended family wedding, traditional, wild, or unique wedding, glamorous or country style wedding, a wedding with home catering, or a wedding being held in a hall.
The show is particularly looking for couples who have outgoing personalities and are keen to share their love story and their journey to the altar.
“We are looking for out going, personable couples with great stories to share,” says Scott. “Preference will be given to couples in their teens who have decided to marry.”
The couples will be selected from a thorough pre-screening questionnaire and meetings with the production team. Scott says they will screen each couple carefully to determine how committed they are to getting married and they will be fully briefed and prepared for the shooting process.
But with all the stress of wedding planning, there is always the chance things could go awry and the couple decides to call off the wedding. What then?
“We will be careful not to get in their way and most people find the process quite fun,” says Scott. “In the event that they drop out before getting married, well, we would need to assess each situation. Whether the episode would air depends on the circumstances and at what point in our shooting they decided not to get married. If we felt we still had a compelling episode, despite their decision, the episode may still air.”
Each episode of Young and Married (working title) is 30 minutes long. This is an observational doc series Scott says, so the camera will be like a fly on the wall, following each couple as they approach their wedding day.
“Every episode will be different because every couple’s story is different,” explains Scott. “We will follow each couple as they plan the details of their wedding, negotiate family drama, and walk down the aisle on the big day.”
So if you and your beloved have decided to take the leap and could use an extra four grand to help plan the wedding of your dreams, contact the Slice Network at firstname.lastname@example.org
