Military Minds hosting a Christmas Toy Drive for Military Families in Toronto region
An organization known for its commitment to soldiers suffering from the effects of trauma is doing a little extra this Christmas by hosting a Toy Drive for military families in the Toronto region.
Chris Dupee of Military Minds says that he wanted to give back to the organization that helped him out at Christmas. So he is organizing a Toy Drive for the Toronto Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC).
"As I have suffered through many Christmases trying to make ends meet, I find it my duty to give back to those who have helped me out personally," says Dupee. "The MFRC has given me gift cards in order to get my kids gifts on Christmas. We at Military Minds are grateful to be in a position to pay it forward tenfold."
Dupee is looking for either toys or gift cards for families in need. He asks that the toys be sent unwrapped to the following address:
St. Andrews Church, 32 Main St. N., Markham, Ontario, L3P 6V5
The toys will be collected there until about a week before Christmas then Chris will deliver them to the MFRC in Toronto.
The Toy Drive poster on his Military Minds Facebook site reads: No Soldier should have to choose between feeding their family and Christmas gifts.
"Although this is a local thing for me, any help is greatly appreciated, no matter where you're from," says Dupee. "Thank you."
